The Bulgarian alphabet: Българската азбука

In Bulgaria, the Cyrillic alphabet is used. There are thirty letters in total, six of which are vowels: а, ъ, о, у, е and и. Some letters look the same in Bulgarian and English and have the same pronunciation but the majority look and sound different.

Some words of greeting:
Здравей! (pronounced zdravey) meaning Hello!/Hi! (informal)
добър ден! (dobur den) meaning Good day!
довиждане! (dovijuhdane) meaning Goodbye!
